0.04x  + 0.7 = 0.02x+ 1.4

 

Solve for x

 

0.04x - 0.02x = 1.4 - 0.7

 

0.02x = 0.7

 

x = 0.7 / 0.02 = 35

 

Take 35 mL of the 4% solution and add 70 mL of the 1% solution to give 105 mL of the 2% solution.
