How to figure out when two cars will meet up?

Two cars are travelling at constant speeds. A Neon is travelling at 15.65 m/s and a Corvette is travelling at 18.1 m/s. When a stopwatch is started, the Corvette is 22 meters behind the Neon. How long does it take the Corvette to catch the Neon? How far did the Neon travel before it was overtaken?

Both cars travel the same amount of time.

Time = Distance/Rate

Let D = distance traveled by the Neon

 

(D/15.65) = (D+22)/18.1

18.1D = 15.65D + 344.3
