the slope is the rise/run
in a square the rise equals the run
therefore one diagonal has a slope of 1
the other diagonal is perpendicular to the first diagonal
therefore it has a slope that is the negative reciprocal of the slope of the first diagonal, that is, the slope equals -1
so, one diagonal has a slope of 1 and the other diagonal has a slope of -1
(1)*(-1)=-1 is the answer
