what would be the expanded form form in this equation I’m getting 30 as my answer

Are you familiar with Pascal's triangle to get coefficients of a binomial expansion?

 

(a + b)³ = a³ + 3a²b + 3ab² + b³

 

Plug in

 

a = 6

b = 4y

 

and simplify.  The answer must be an expression in the variable y.  It cannot be just 30.

(6 + 4y)³

(6 + 4y)(36 + 48y + 16y²)
