Karen collected data on the inches of rainfall for 31 days of March. She decided to graph her time (days) along the X axis, and the amount of rainfall inches along the Y axis. She doesn’t want her X axis to have a scale of 1 because that would make the graph too big, but she is concerned that when she picks a scale she has to apply that sCale to both the X axis and Y axis. Is she correct?

The two axes can have different scales, and often do in real-world data plotting.
