2850+ 875X = 10475 - 650X <--- multiplies everything by 100 to clear away the decimals

 

2850 + 875x + 650x = 10475

 

1525x  + 2850 = 10475

 

1525x = 10475 - 2850

 

1525x = 7625

 

x=5

 

in 5 weeks, ATU will have 28.50 + 5 x 8.75 = 72.25

                  Beth will have 104.75 - 6.50*5 = 72.25

 

So yes, the answer checks! They will have the same amount after 5 weeks
