C) how much time in minutes is left to return to the station and D) at what rate must the train travel to have the train return on time.}

A. (2/3)(12) = 8 miles

 

B. d = rt, so t = d/r

8/10 = 4/5 hr = 48 mins

 

C. 60 - 48 = 12 mins

 

r = d/t

 

4/(1/5) = 1/3 hr = 20 mph
