Suppose the y varies directly with the square toot of x and suppose that when x=4, y=12. Find and equation that relates y to x, and then determine the value of x when y=2

12 = k√4

12 = 2k

6 = k

 

2 = 6√x

1/3 = √x       Square both sides

1/9 = x
