a casserole calls for 1/2 cup crushed crakers. if the recipe is tripled, how many cups of crushed crakers are needed?

please help me I cant seem to answer this myself but this has something to do with rates and proportions

Hi Javonte,

 

To "triple" the recipe is to MULTIPLY by 3.

 

So take the 1/2  * 3  = 

 

1      3              3

-- * ---   =     -------

2       1              2

 

This "improper" fraction (3/2) = 1 1/2 cups
