This is a fatally flawed question, since 0.5 IS NOT a whole number. A whole number must be an integer, and 0.5 is not an integer. Where did this question come from?

Perhaps it is, but then the problem statement should ask for 0.5 rounded to a whole number. It is a very poorly worded question.
