I love math, and I love to teach it.
Hello, Krysta,
If someone drove a car for a week and drove 225 mi/ 25 h, how would you find the unit rate?
That question is really asking you how many miles would he go in 1 hour. Furthermore, you could divide 225÷25 to get the unit rate= 9/1 9 miles for every 1 hour of driving This is a unit rate
Here are examples of unit rates: 2 candies/ $1 , 10 mi/1 gallon of gas, 5 dogs/ 1 cat
What do all the fractions or unit rates have in common?
I hope that this helps. I'll let you work your problem. Susan C.
