There are 52 cards in a deck, 4 kings and 4 aces. That makes 8 cards:

8/52

We can factor out a 4 from both the numerator and denominator:

8 ÷ 4 = 2

52 ÷ 4 = 13

So there is a 2 in 13 chance to pull out either an ace or king from the deck.
