m = (8 - 4)/(-5 - 3) = 4/-8 = -1/2

 

y = -x/2 + b

 

Use either point to find b.

 

4 = -(3)/2 + b

 

b = 4 + 3/2 = 11/2

 

y = -x/2 + 11/2
