Which equation would you write that can be used to determine the dimensions of a yard?

John fenced his backyard using 550 feet of fencing. The width of his yard is 10 feet less than twice the length. Which equation can be used to determine the dimensions of his yard? Is it x + (2x - 10) = 550, 2x + 900 = x, or 2x + 2(2x - 10) = 550? The perimeter formula for a rectangle is P = 2l + 2w. I have not been able to solve this question and would really appreciate some help.
