2 (√ 1.5 + √ 2 ) -(1.5+ √ 2 ) = |open brackets, multiply |

=2 √ 1.5 + 2√ 2 - 1.5 - √ 2 = |√1.5=√(3/2)|=

=2√(3/2)+√2-3/2 = √6+√2-3/2.

I think this is the best you can write or

=√2(√3+1)-3/2=1.41(2.71)-1.5=..=2.3637.

You are not going to evaluate the square roots so just treat them like variables.

Distribute the two to both terms, and get 2√1.5 +2√2  Distribute the negative sign to the second quantity and get - 1.5 - √2.  Combine like terms.  The only like terms are the ones with the square root of 2 in them.  You can go from here!
