In 8 hours, the south factory can make

 

   36 x 8 = 288 small and 14x8 = 112 large

 

 

In 1 hour, the north factory can make

   54 small and 21 large per hour

   That's 432 small and 168 large in 8 hours

 

Note that 288 x 1.5 = 432 and 112 x 1.5 = 168
