A complete sentence need not be complicated.  You need to start with a subject; that is what are you writing about, followed usually by a verb and then a finish.  An example could be " I went yesterday to the store."  A "fragmented," or incomplete sentence might read " Went yesterday to the store."  Remember too, that in creative essay and story telling, fragmented sentences my be all right if you are re-telling a story.

A complete sentence must have a subject and a verb as well as an object.

The tree has branches.

subject = tree

verb - has

object= branches

Joy's answer is spot on.

Don't forget, sentences can be as simple as "I do."

I - subject

do - verb/predicate.
