The Contents of two vessels containing water and milk are in the ratio 1:2 and 2:3 are mixed in the ratio of 2:1.Find out the ratio after mixing the two mixture

The answer was 16:29 but here when I Looked into the solution they have solved by using some LCM method.Please solve the above question by LCM method.

Starting ratios:

1 : 2 and 2 : 3

Same as

3 : 6 and 4 : 6

Two part of the first is 6 : 12

One part of the second is 4 : 6

Combined it is 10 : 18 or 5 : 9

 

Since the both solutions are greater or equal to 1 : 2, I doubt the answer of 16 : 29 which is only slightly greater than 0.55.
