Im getting 2 different answers. Help please

75 hours * 2 equals 150 hours * $35 an hour equals 5250 but if you break the $35 up into $20 and $15 chunks and times each by 75 hours you get 1500 and 1125 added together equals 2625 not 5250 which answer is correct

Without even seeing the problem, I can not say which is correct. However, I can point out that in the first part you are multiplying $35/hr by 150hrs and in the bottom part you have cut the hours in half to 75 hours.

150(35) = 150(20 + 15) = 150*20 + 150*15
