(Volume of cylinder)/(Volume of sphere) = number of spheres

• Volume of cylinder = pi·r²·h  where r = 7 and h = 14
• Volume of sphere = (4/3)·pi·R³  where R = 3.5

 

Vc/Vs = pi·r²·h/((4/3)·pi·R³) = 3hr²/(4R³)

 

Plug in the numbers and compute the answer.  Round down to the nearest whole number (can't make part of a sphere).
