Hi, Kloyee...from Andrews, TX...have a great day at school.
Is this a true or false question?
Glad you contacted Wyzant for assistance.
Let's look at the words in the sentence.
Plants get the energy they need for photosynthesis from soil.
What have you learned so far as it applies to plant respiration? You do know what plant respiration means, correct?
Think of it like this...a plant cell has all the structural requirements for photosynthesis, however there are some chemical elements, ions, which are required for photosynthesis. The formula is:
CO2 + 2H2O + photons → [CH2O] + O2 + H2O
H2O along with some other ions do come from the ground.
So, yes at some level, the ground does provide some elements needed for photosynthesis.
