I really need your help and im having struggles trying to figure out these word problems. So will please help me understand

4N = 25 - 17

 

4n = 8

 

n=2

4 times the number of hours plus 17 is 25:

 

4h + 17 = 25

subtract 17 from both sides

4h = 8

divide both sides by 4

h = 2

 

He rented the bike for 2 hours.
