One side of triangle is 5 more than
2 times the shortest side. The third side is
9 feet more than the shortest side. The perimeter is
50. Find all three sides.

Let 2x + 5 = the longest side

Let x + 9 = the length of the middle length side

P a + b + c

x + 2x + 5 + x + 9 = 50

4x + 14 = 50

4x = 36

x = 9

2x + 5 = 2(9) + 5 = 23

x + 9 = 9 + 9 = 18
