1/3 of the fish in Adams tank were added today. Half of the other fish were a gift to Adam last week. The other 9 came from Adams old fish tank. How many fish are in the tank?

The "other 9" are equal the half that was a gift.

Therefore we now have 18 fish.

These 18 is 2/3 of the fish

 

18 = (2/3)t

27 = t
