How to determine is a triangle is a right triangle based on only two sides?

I've been given only the length of two sides of a triangle. How do I determine if that triangle is a right triangle or not a right triangle?

It cannot be determined. If you were given three sides you could use Pythagoras to determine if the triangle was right or not.

 

If a triangle is not right, is it wrong?

Answer 2

If the ratio of the sides are either 3/4, 3/5, or 4/5,  (This is the Pythagorean triples theory.)

 

then you have a right triangle.
