Divide each dimension by the diameter of the ball, rounding down to the nearest integer.  Then multiply the 3 results, and that should be your answer:

 

D = diameter of ball

n = number of balls that fit in the box

 

Evaluate L/D, W/D, and H/D, rounding down to the nearest integer as needed.

 

n = (L/D)(W/D)(H/D)

 

At this point it is just a basic arithmetic problem, and you can finish from here.

 

(By the way, this is the 3rd time I have seen this problem posted.  Is this a new Common Core requirement?)
