How do the numbers on the pH scale compare? Example: is a pH of 4 twice as strong as a pH of 2? The pH scale is linear!

I don't know anything about this and do not know how I would put it in words

I should add that a lower pH means the acid is stronger.  Suppose you have 2 acids, one of pH = 5 and one of pH = 2.  The acid of pH = 2 is 105-2 = 103 = 1000 times stronger than the acid of pH = 2.  This is not linear at all.

I want to add that if the pH of one acid is 3 lower than the pH of another acid, the acid of lower pH is 103 times as strong as the other, i.e. 1000 times as strong.  You can see it is not linear at all.

Yeah I actually forgot to add that it says it's not linear.
