You have $80. Jeans cost $29 and shirts cost $12. Mom told you to buy one pair of jeans and use the rest of the money to buy shirts .

I have to write an inequality to find how many shirts I can buy

Since we can't purchase .25 shirts,
the total purchase is 1 pair of jeans
and 4 shirts.

I left it as an inequality because that's what the directions stated.
