Note that there are 6 faces of this prism -- all rectangles. 

 

so you just take the area of each rectangle  (length x width) and then you add them up.

 

Surface area= 3*3 + 3*7 + 3*7 + 3*3 + 3*7 + 3*7 = 102 square cm.
