You and your friend love going to the movies. Over the last month you bought popcorn six more times than milk duds and milk duds eight more times than raisinettes. If you bought popcorn n times how many times did you buy raisinettes?

Answer 1

If you bought popcorn n times, then you bought Milk Duds (n - 6) times.

 

If you bought Milk Duds (n - 6) times, then you bought Raisinettes (n - 14) times.

 

Why? Because (n - 14) + 8 = n - 6, and (n - 6) is the number of times you purchased Milk Duds.
