Just use the definition of Logarithm:
A = a x X = Loga A (1)
X -3 , 0, 0.3, 6.4

To deconfuse just focus on the basic definition of log functions equation (1)
102 = 10 * 10 , 10 multiplied by itself twice gives 100
Log 10 100 = 2 Now if you asked how many times 10 should be multiplied by itself to give 100 will be
10X = 100
To solve:
102 = 10 X , then X = 2

Yes thank you Mr Parviz, where I'm confused is where x is -3, 0, 0.3, 6.4....its not as simple as a power of 2. And that's my confusion...please help
