the equation you want to use is taking the distance and dividing it by the time it takes to travel that distance, that will give you the speed. An example would be if you drove 60 miles in 60 minutes that would be 60 divided by 60 which equals one mile per hour or 1 mph. Distance divided by time = Speed or D/T=S
