Temperature as a function of time

 

T(h) = -8 + 2h

 

Example:  At "zero hour" temperature = -8+0=-8^o

1 hour later: T(1) = -8 + 2(1) = -6^o

2 hours later: T(2) = -8 + 2(2) = -4^o

.

8 hours after the start time:

T(8) = -8 + 2(8) = -8 + 16 = 8^o

Lets say the -8 deg occurs at 0800 hrs and you are told that the temperature rose 2 deg every hour so the temperature T(t)=2*(t-8)-8 for t>=8. So at t=8 T(8)=-8 and at t-10 T(10)=4-8=-4
