There are only two forms of nucleic acids: DNA and RNA.

 

There are DNA viruses where genetic material of virus is DNA, it will synthesize/transcribe RNA to make viral proteins.

 

There are RNA viruses where genetic material of virus is RNA. it will make mRNA and then protein.
