Hello Carolyn,
For word problems, when you see the word "is," it means equal. So when building A is 376 taller than building B, you would have A = B +376.
Then you said A subtracted from twice the height of B is 75meters. Twice means two times. Hence 2B - A=75
Now you have two equations
A = B + 376
2B - A = 75
Usually you would either use Substitution or Elimination method to solve systems of equations (more than 1 equation). Because we have one equation where it is A = , it is easier to use substitution where we can replace A with what A is equal to. Let's plug in A into the second equation.
2B - A = 75
2B - (B + 376) = 75
2B - B - 376 = 75
Then you can just keep going to solve for B. At the end, don't forget to plug in your answer for B into one of the equations, in order to solve for A as well.
