x^2-3x+10-20=0

x^2-3x-10=0

(x-5)(x+2)=0

x-5=0

x=5

x+2=0

x=-2

x²-3x+10-20=0

 

x²-3x-10=0

 

x²-5x+2x-10=0

 

x(x-5)+2(x-5)=0

 

(x+2)(x-5)=0

 

x+2=0 or x-5=0

 

x=-2 or x=5

 

Check:

 

x=-2

 

(-2)²-3(-2)+10=4+6+10=20=20

 

x=5

 

(5)²-3(5)+10=25-15+10=20=20
