Could you show me the steps

Z2 + 2Z + 2 = (-1-Z)2
does Z=3?

z^2 + 2z +2 = (-1-z)(-1-z)
z^2 + 2z + 2 = 1 + z + z +2z 
z^2 - 2z +1 = 0
(z-1)^2 = 0
z = 1

Kemal, check your work on the second line. 2Z on the right should be Z^2 and you'll see that you get a false statement.
