If you won't allow logarithms, thenI will solve it by plotting two functions on the graphing calculator.
Y1 = xx
Y2 = 100
Asking the calculator to find the intersection yielded x = 3.597285

The problem with using logs is that you get a transcendental equation:
xx = 100
x log x = log100
Such an equation may more easily be solved using numerical methods, which are employed by your computational devices.
