If we convert from percentage to decimal, this becomes much easier! The total price of the candy will be 100% of the cost + 8% of the cost (the sales tax), or in other words, 108%. Converted to decimal, this is simply 1.08, which we can multiply by the toal cost and see that the candy will cost $33.48. I hope this helps!
