I assume you mean the network operated by abolitionists in the US during the early 1800s.  This was not the operation of a literal railroad.  It was a network of escape routes and safehouses operated by abolitionists to lead slaves escaping from the South to freedom in the northern states, Canada, and other lands where there was no slavery.
