X% x 80=30

need to solve for X

Kenneth S.

The presentation of this problem is a good example of why we shouldn't use x to mean multiply when we're doing Algebra.
X% x 80=30  is better if written as "(x%)(80) = 30"  or  "If x% of 80 = 30, what is x?" -- the latter being superior because it's a question!
