_13 as an improper fraction

I can't figure out what -13 is as an improper fraction please help me.

An improper fraction is one in which the numerator is greater than the denominator.

-13 as an improper fraction would be (among several options) -13/1.

Since there is no fractional part (you have the INTEGER negative thirteen), you should not attempt to make it into an improper fraction.

 

On the other hand, negative (13  & one third) would be -40/3.
