Differentiate the function : y = (6 + 4x)2

By the Chain Rule, If y = uⁿ where n is any nonzero real number and u is a differentiable function of x, then y' = dy/dx = nu^n-1(du/dx)

 

So, if y = (6+4x)², then dy/dx = 2(6+4x)¹(4)

 

                                          = 8(6x+4) = 48x + 32
