Let's assume that of those 32 students, there are only men and women (which is to say there aren't any goats or martians...no trick questions, just humans). So if 9 of the 32 are women, then everybody left would be a guy. That's 32 - 9 = 23 men.
To turn that into a percentage, just divide the amount of men by the total amount of people in the class: 23/32 = 71.875%.
