A cereal box is 3 inches long, 8 inches wide, and 12 inches  high. assuming that there is no overlap, what is the amount of cardboard needed to make the box?

Total surface area of a box =  ((L + W) + ( W + H) + (L + H)) x 2

 

((3+8) + (8+12) + (3+12)) x 2= (11 + 20 + 15) x 2= 46 x = 92 sq inch
