f( X ) = 5√(16X)
f( -2 ) = 5√-32 = -2
Parviz F.
f(x ) = 5√-32 = 5√( -2 . -2 . -2 . -2 . -2) = 5√[( -2) ^5] = -2
1. Write -32, as product of its prime factors, by dividing by prime number of 2
2. -32 = (-2) ^5
3. 5√-32 = 5 √(-2^5) = -2 / This line follows from the basic definition of n√(X^n) = X
/ Exponent and roots are opposite of each other.
/ That is why we could use fractional exponents for roots
/ 5√( -2^5) = ( -2 ^5 ) ^ ( 1/5 ) = -2 ( 5 . 1/5 ) = -2
