S = 10+ (3/4)x or = 10 + .75x
B = 15 + .65x
if they each swam the same number of laps then
152 = 10 +.75x + 15 + .65x = 25 + 1.4x
1.4x = 152 -25 = 127
x = 127/1.4 = about 91 laps each
if Beth swam 45 times the number of laps that Sherry swam
then S=10 + .75x and B=15 + .65(45x) = 15 + .29.25x
152 = 25 + 30x
x = 127/30 = 4.2333.. laps for Sherry
45x = 190 1/2 laps for Beth
