James bought 20 bags of marbles. Each bag contains 11 dark marbles and 15 light marbles. How many marbles did James buy in all?

I think it's just a confusing question. Not to worry. 

 

If each bag contains 11 dark AND 15 light marbles, then each bag contains 11+15 marbles or 26.

 

If each bag contains 26 marbles, then how many marbles are in a total of 20 bags

 

26 X 20

 

26 x 2 = 52 and so 26 X 20=520
