acceleration = rate of change of velocity with respect to time
current = rate of change of charge with respect to time
mechanical power = rate of change of mechanical work with respect to time
electromotive force = -(rate of change of magnetic flux with respect to time)
There are many other rates. There are rates in the social sciences too.
