Given that (0, -7) is on he line ... since x = 0, we know that the y-intercept is -7.

 

Using the point on the line (-2, 5) and the slope-intercept form for the equation of a line,

 

   y = mx + b

   5 = m(-2) + -7

   5 = -2m - 7

   5 + 7 = -2m

   12 = -2m

   -2m = 12

   m = -6

 

So m - -6 and b = -7

 

The equation of the line is 

 

    y = mx + b

    y = -6x - 7

It is given that (0, -7) and (-2,5) are points on the line. So to graph, plot those
2 points and connect them with a line.
